Technology
Telecontrol can be applied to all audiovisual media, including TVs, VCRs, DVDs and set-top boxes (STBs). Telecontrol registers who watches what programmes at what time. It also allows viewers to rate the quality of the viewed programmes. Telecontrol is based on cutting-edge technology and survey techniques. Since its introduction, Telecontrol has been continuously adapted to the changing social environment, as well as to evolving individual needs, which means that it is always prepared for future scenarios. The data stored in the Telecontrol device is usually accessed and transmitted fully automatically via telephone line (analogue or GSM/CSD modem) during the night. A central computer evaluates the collected data, draws up statistics for further processing and provides additional information as required.

Data Transmissions
Data stored in Telecontrol devices is collected by analog or GSM/GPRS modem. Most of GARB households are equipped with GSM/GPRS modems, as the expectations in near future are all households to be supplied with GSM modems, mostly because of their safety and stability during the data transmission.
